The Queen Room

Of all the bedrooms in our house, this is the only one I haven't slept in.  All of our bedrooms have names and this one is appropriately named for the large queen size bed that dominates.  My husband's brother Craig made this bed and it is as solid and well made as it is beautiful.  And I've yet to sleep in it!   And like all of the rooms in this house, it is a combination of items that came from both of our former houses but with new linens gathered from hither and yon.  When we first looked at this house, this room was a man's office painted in Benjamin Moore's Camouflage Green.  Now it is a fresh and light C2 Paint "Moxie" which is a good choice for it because it's the only bedroom that doesn't get direct morning sun so we fabricated sun with the paint color.   I love this room - I go in it everyday whether I need to or not and often tell my husband that we must sleep in it sometime so we know what it's like for our guests.  And I want to see what it's like to wake up there in the morning.  Here it is in pictures.

These three pictures above are what it looked like when we first toured the house.

It's not a large room; it's just right for guests.  You can put your suitcase in the closet and there's plenty of room to hang some clothes in there - it's pretty deep.  And you can put your folded clothing in the armoire there on the left.  The shelves are lined with some delicious smelling liners from Crabtree and Evelyn.

You need those steps to get onto the bed - it's quite high!

My awesome step daughter Brittany painted the art above the bed.
Late afternoon when it gets the most sun.  This isn't a room where the sun wakes you up blinding you when you open your eyes. Look at the nice wood carving on the bed post.  Craig did a fabulous job.  All solid wood.

A very nice room indeed.  Fit for a queen and regular folk too.
