Errands took us all over the seacoast area today and we oohed and awed around every corner. I've lived here in New England a total of 15 years and autumn still takes my breath away. Every year it's just as exciting and I forget how and when it will start to unfold. We are not anywhere near peak yet either. I probably shouldn't even be posting about Fall yet because tomorrow we are going up north in both New Hampshire and Vermont and the color is sure to be further along. I can't help it though - I needed to post some delight. And there will probably be more posts and pictures after this one.

Dahlias were selling for a dollar a piece today at the farmer's market - I have 100 bucks worth in my yard then. |
Sauteed Swiss Chard Recipe
Rip leaves off stems and take the big pile and toss in a bit of olive oil in a hot pan. To this huge amount, add salt and pepper to taste, stir, and in a few minutes you have just a little handful to eat. Delicious and easy and it's amazing how a large amount cooks down to a cupful so be generous with your harvesting.
